What a lovely Christmas I had! After the ups and downs of December, a quick break at a friend’s farmhouse was just what we needed. And the “Rustic Woodland Table” we shot there looks so beautiful! It will be out soon, and I can’t wait to see what you all think of it. But before that, let’s get into the mood for some more Christmas love. Because the festival might be gone, but its spirit lives on!
Setting Up The “Bonus” Christmas Table
I am not giving this table a number, because really, it’s a BONUS table, with a Christmas theme. And of course, there is love in the air, like there should always be. I have used some of the elements from the Winter Wonderland table here. A silk ribbon runs through the table, breaking the white.
My golden cutlery sits atop red napkins, tied together with a silver wire. A pine cone and a single white flower give it an element of romance. A snowflake under the cutlery gives an additional layer of winter elements to the setting. I had used the same snowflakes as coasters in my previous setting, and you might see them again in some other avatar in later tables. Because one you buy something pretty, it must find many outings in different forms. It’s up to you and your imagination to find new and exciting uses for everything in your kitchen cabinets.
A wooden heart, inverted glasses, with cupcakes sitting pretty on them, bags filled with Christmas gifts, macarons, and a vintage frame come together and elevate an everyday table into something more appropriate for the season. This need not be a Christmas table. Just a few elements changed here and there and you can have a romantic setting for a dinner date, or a classic setting for a birthday or an anniversary.
A Big “Thank You”!
Food is a necessity. Table settings are a luxury. Together, they create memories and stories. And I constantly seek to create that. Bring your loved ones together at a beautiful table, serve some soul food, and watch the conversation flow. It’s a way of creating lasting bonds in a world that’s getting smaller, but driving people further apart. When I started this blog, my intention was to create a small legacy of love. Every week, I strive to move a step closer to that life goal. I am learning, and am so humbled that you have chosen to be a part of this journey. As the year ends, it’s time to look back with gratitude and acknowledge all the gifts life has brought when we weren’t even seeking. Thank you for being the light in my life. Thank you for the love. I hope to make it worth your time.
